Adjustments, or spinal manipulation therapy, are minor movements of vertebrae in the spine. The objective of this movement is to realign your spine, which may have moved out of place for a number of reasons, ranging from daily normal activities to trauma such as a car accident.
When the vertebrae in your spine are out of place, it can affect everything from your muscles to your central nervous system. By properly aligning your spine, you ensure that all your nerves flow from the brain to the rest of the body without a hitch, so your body is able to respond and perform as it was designed.
No two spines are the same, and no two nervous systems and musculoskeletal structures are the same either, so we treat every body individually. We may prescribe therapeutic exercise, custom orthotics, interferential electro-therapy, or electrical muscle stimulation in addition to adjustments, depending on your condition.
